Workshop: mainstreaming ecosystem services in agricultural production

NEWS | 2017-08-29

Welcome to a workshop on how to use scientific results when mainstreaming ecosystem services into decisions at Lund University, 21-22 November 2017, in collaboration with EviEM.

The aim of the workshop is to better understand how our research on ecosystem services in agriculture can be used and how we also in research can make use of other researchers’ results.  The workshop includes presentations of different ways of how to find scope, address key challenges and use scientific results when aiming at a more sustainable agricultural production.

In research, we generally are very good at mapping ecosystem services, evaluating different types of management towards environmental issues and also to predict and test outcomes of future scenarios on agriculture. However, the scientific knowledge is often very diverse in outcomes and difficult to integrate into policy formulation or to understand for local farmers. Here we will address recent scientific work in the area of ecosystem services and agriculture and by that address decision making in for e.g. CAP.

The workshop is a collaboration between Lund University (The Centre of Environmental and Climate Research, the BECC strategic research project)  and Mistra EviEM.
